Castor oil is a vegetable oil pressed from castor beans. The oil has a lot of benefits, but the plant itself is a poisonous plant that can cause severe, even fatal poisoning.
The oil can be used internally to help clean the digestive system and put in order the intestinal microflora (do your research before using that method and consult with a doctor) and it can be used externally for cosmetic reasons (I am here to discuss that).
If you are looking for luxurious hair, beautiful thick eyelashes, soft skin and strong nails, here are some of castor oil masks you can use.
Hair loss, dandruff and dry hair remedy
Use castor oil twice a week before washing your hair by gently rubbing it into your scalp. The oil must be warm (NOT HOT). Keep the mask on for a minimum 30 minutes and I usually put a plastic bag on my head to preserve the warm for that period. Wash the castor oil off with your shampoo. This procedure improves blood circulation and nutrition of the hair follicles. Do not use it more than twice a week, especially if you have oily hair, because frequent use can lead to clogging of your pores and eventually boils. Use it for a month and take a break from the mask for a couple of months.
You can add up to two more ingredients to your mask if you want: honey, olive oil, coconut oil, aloe vera, avocado. It will give an extra nutriment to your hair.
Split ends remedy
Same as the previous procedure, but instead of applying the oil to the roots and scalp, apply it to your whole hair length and to the ends. It will restore your hair elasticity and strengthen it.
Stronger and thicker eyelashes
Use a disposable mascara wand and gently brush your eyelashes with the castor oil. You don’t have to drown your lashes in it, just a bit for your lashes to absorb it during the night.
Stronger and healthier nails
Put a few drops of castor oil on your cuticles and massage your nail with it until it is warm and fully absorbed.
Add a few drops of castor oil to your body cream.
